A lesbian couple says a restaurant in Phoenix, Arizona forced them to end their anniversary celebration early after they hugged and kissed.

The Arizona Republic reported that the couple was dining at the District American Kitchen & Wine Bar, located inside the Sheraton Phoenix Downtown Hotel, when a restaurant employee saw them kissing and asked them to leave.

Arizona Equality Executive Director Nick Ray told Raw Story that the couple reached out to him to help ?figure out what needs to be done to rectify the situation.?

?I finally was able to speak to the general manager of the hotel,? he explained. ?I?m not sure they really actually had a sense of the degree of anger they caused in the community, which they added to last night because they deleted dozens of [negative] comments off their Facebook page.?

Sheraton management was scheduled to meet with the couple on Tuesday, according to Ray. But he has also recommended diversity training for the staff.

?My guess is going to be that this individual employee didn?t know how to deal with the situation and felt like he had to make a snap decision,? he speculated. ?It?s not the case that it?s simple as putting it in the human resources policy and saying, you know, we treat everybody fairly. It?s how it actually gets done on the ground. And that is where I hope we really can make some progress.?

Ray said that while Arizona had gotten a reputation for bigotry in recent years, many restaurants in the downtown Phoenix area are ?gay friendly.?

?I won?t deny the fact that there are a significant number of people in our state legislature on the Republican side who are vehemently anti-gay, and who would never consider supporting legislation that would in any way be seen as recognizing the legitimacy of the LGBT community as a class that?s discriminated against,? he told Raw Story. ?The SB 1070 [anti-immigration law] has drawn attention to the state in that regard, but it has also meant that other minority populations have become more aware of their situation within the state.?

A message posted on District Kitchen?s Facebook page Tuesday morning said the restaurant was ?taking this incident very seriously.?

?At District American Kitchen & Wine Bar, we embrace diversity and are proud supporters of the LGBT community,? the statement said. ?We have cultivated strong relationships with organizations dedicated to diversity. We have supported and we will continue to support many events that are specific to gay, lesbian and allied individuals. ? Our restaurant is open for all to enjoy and we sincerely regret that this incident took place.?

Calls to hotel management were not returned by the time of publication.

More than 80,000 Syrian refugees fleeing to Jordan

AMMAN, Jordan (AP) ? More than 80,000 Syrian refugees have fled the nearly 11 months of violence in their homeland and settled in neighboring Jordan, a Jordanian government official said Sunday.

The skyrocketing number of refugees, which was significantly higher figures than previously reported by the Jordanian government, attests to the growing violence in Syria where President Bashar Assad is trying to suppress a months-long rebellion by Syrians demanding he step down.

Jordanian Information Minister Rakan al-Majali said Sunday that 73,000 refugees have entered the country from Syria across Jordan's northern border. The figure comprises only those refugees who have crossed legally.

Last week, the interior ministry said at least 10,000 Syrians, including officers in the security forces, had entered Jordan illegally since the uprising began, bringing the total number of refugees in the country to roughly 83,000.

The refugees fleeing the crackdown by Assad receive considerable help in Jordan. Many are housed in apartments and some are hosted by Jordanian families and receive assistance from the government, private groups and the U.N.'s refugee agency.

Zaid Hamad, president of the Kitab and Sunna charity, one of the officially recognized aid groups assisting Syrians with housing, food and medical help, said the government's figures were accurate and predicted the numbers would grow.

Hamad said his organization alone is helping at least 20,000 Syrians in the country.

"I believe that within a month that number will continue to grow because we are receiving at least 40 refugees daily," he said.

Aid groups said that as violence deepens in Syria, they expect refugee numbers to climb.

Hamad spoke to The Associated Press as Syrians lined the group's office in the northern town of Ramtha, where they collected food boxes donated by the United Arab Emirates Red Crescent.

Hamid al-Shamisi of the UAE Red Crescent was on hand to distribute 550 boxes of rice, oil, sugar, tea, and other basic food items.

"We are brothers, and it's our duty to help," al-Shamisi told an elderly Syrian man.

One of the women in line, who identified herself only as Um Ahmed, said she had recently fled the city of Homs. The city in central Syria has witnessed a relentless bloody bombardment for more than three weeks.

"We had to escape from the brutal government attack on our city," she said on Friday. "The Assad regime is despicable. There is no safety for us and our children," said the mother of two.

Both Jordanian and U.N. officials said they have prepared a tent camp to house 1,000 Syrian families, should there be a massive influx of Syrian refugees. But so far, most of the refugees appear to be staying in private houses, with family or friends.

The kingdom is estimated to have hosted 1.5 million Iraqis during the height of the country's violence in 2003-2008. The refugees were a huge tax on the country's resources, and many hundreds of thousands still remain in Jordan.

It depends on how you set up the LLC. With an LLC you can elect to either be taxed as a sole-proprietor OR as a corporation. In 95%+ cases you will pay more taxes if you elect to be taxed as a corporation, so it usually doesn?t make sense. If you elect to be taxed as a sole-proprietor you will likely face less taxes, but I can?t say for sure without knowing your entire financial position.

In most cases, the greatest benefit to becoming an LLC rather than a sole proprietor is the legal protection LLC?s provide. Generally, if your LLC is sued the person sueing it can only recover the assets that belong specifically to the LLC, whereas if you are a sole proprietor, the person can recover all of the company?s assets as well as all of your own personal assets (house, car, desk, computer, iPod, etc.)

Prof. Ariel Roguin, chief of interventional cardiology at Haifa?s
Rambam Medical Center, and colleagues presented new data on four
interventional cardiologists ? all of them diagnosed with incurable
brain tumors of the left side ? which due to the equipment they use
are exposed to the radiation source during procedures.

Roguin, who also teaches at the Technion?s Rappaport Faculty of
Medicine, told?The Jerusalem Post?on Tuesday that he wrote the article
to increase awareness of the possible risks of the profession. Other
cardiologists and radiologists, who are not interventional, are able
to sit in another room and do their work, but those who have to
function at the patient?s side in catheterization rooms must get close
to the ionizing radiation, he said.

The interventional specialist, he said, already wears heavy lead
protectors that cover the chest and thyroid glands below the neck to
minimize exposure and reduce the risk of cancer.

But the head and hands are not covered, and Roguin said he knows of no
one in the specialty who wears a lead helmet. They also have a special
card that monitors accumulated radiation exposure over time.

While hospitals usually check them, private clinics and hospitals may
be less careful, and the interventional specialists may ignore
warnings of overexposure because it would prevent them from working,
Roguin said.? The Rambam specialist, who said he performs 600 such
procedures a year, wrote the article in the latest issue of the
peer-reviewed journal EuroIntervention, along with the Carmel Medical
Center?s Dr. Jacob Goldstein and Dr. Olivier Bar of a cardiology
interventional?imaging clinic?in France.

They summarized the medical literature that included another two
interventional cardiologists and three interventional radiologists
with brain cancer for a total of nine documented cases since 1997. The
data was obtained from medical records and interviews with family
members or colleagues of the victims.

All the physicians who had the type of aggressive brain cancer called
gliomas were men who had been in the profession for decades, the
article said. There were no women, as there have been very few senior
female doctors in the profession, and only now have some joined the
ranks.

DNA damage is considered to be the main initiating event by which
radiation damage to?cells?results in slow development of this type of
cancer, said the Rambam cardiologist. Those performing the procedures
are likely to receive high radiation exposure in spite of
protection?..
Goldstein added: ?Hospital workers exposed to low doses of ionizing
radiation had a higher frequency of early chromosomal changes than did
controls. Indeed, chromosomal aberrations in peripheral blood
lymphocytes have been used for many years to monitor human populations
exposed to potential carcinogens.??..

interventional procedures, several studies calculated an increased
cancer risk caused by professional radiation exposure in modern
